Selling smaller items

Hobby equipment, specialist tools, CDs, collectibles, antiques - if your items are small enough to mail across NZ, these can be offered to enthusiasts in other cities as well as within Christchurch, through membership of online trading sites such as Sell It  (www.sellit.co.nz  ), Trade Me (www.trademe.co.nz ) Sella (www.sella.co.nz ) and Bid4it (www.bid4it.co.nz )

Other options are second hand shops, often specialists, such as Real Groovy Records (vinyl, CDs, DVDs), Liberty Books, and SaveMart.

You can part-exchange books bought from some Book Exchanges, and read, for ones that are new to you; an arrangement that keeps in circulation many used books that would otherwise be gathering dust.

Weekend Garage Sales on front lawn or yard are a popular kiwi way to sell surplus stuff, often at low prices, to curious neighbours (and a few traders). Car boot sales such as Rotary's Riccarton Market are another option.
